How it is possible to connect wires?

Connections of wires, for example in distribution boxes, can be non-demountable and folding:

  1. Non-demountable connections carry out welding or soldering.
  2. Folding — by means of bolts, the pin conclusions or screw terminals.

Connection of wires should pay special attention as contact violation most often happens in places of contact of separate lines of the electrical wiring.

It is important to provide durability of seams or bolt fastenings, especially on the sites of wiring subject to continuous mechanical influence.

It is simpler to connect aluminum wires twist, soldering or welding as this metal has some flowability therefore when fastening veins by means of bolts or clips the contact can turn out insufficient for normal work of the electric circuit. Those parts of points of installation which will be connected further to aluminum veins shall be processed by anticorrosive structure.

Junctions of wires reliably isolate by means of the special adhesive tape and place in distribution boxes with the cover.

Options of connection of the copper wire.

Modern distribution boxes are supplied with screwed connections by means of which it is possible to fasten separate lines of wiring, without resorting to welding or soldering. Sockets and switches also have similar clips for accession of wires that considerably facilitates the tasks connected with mounting of the home power supply network.

In addition to screwed connections, in distribution boxes, sockets and switches spring clips can be established. Such fastening of wires provides the best contact with installation points as springs strongly fix veins of wires, putting upon them constant pressure. Before connection of wires
veins smooth out by means of the special tool or the fine-grained emery paper greased with vaseline. At the same time the part of isolation of the wire is cut off, exempting metal veins from the oxidic film which is formed at reaction of metal with the oxygen which is contained in air.

Then the smoothed-out end of the vein by means of round-nose pliers or combination pliers is bent in the ring approximately equal to diameter of the jack screw. Carefully pass the screw throughout the received metal ring of the wire and tighten the nut before full compression of the spring washer (for the full quality assurance it is possible to pressurize connection a little more, approximately half way).

Chandeliers and lamps are supplied with even more convenient clips for connection of veins of electric wires. They have the appearance of the springing plates which are put into the cover from hard plastics. Unfortunately, at the majority of modern models of chandeliers and lamps similar plates are absent. For connection of lamps the direct ends of veins enter into openings of the boss and strongly press the screw. To pull out the wire from such clip, without having weakened at the same time the screw, it is almost impossible.

One little advice: when carrying out electric installation work it is necessary to bring the phase wire to the switch, and to connect zero to the boss of the chandelier. Such method of laying of wires allows to deenergize completely lighting instrument when finding the switch in situation "is switched off".
